Arati Singh

President

Arati (pronounced "Arthy") helps clients chart a path to educational equity and excellence in school systems around the country (and in her beloved Texas!) Prior to launching Raise Achievement, she worked for ten years at the Washington, DC-based Academy for Educational Development (now FHI360), where she led federal grant-funded instructional design, program evaluation, and technical assistance for amazing clients such as the Botswana Ministry of Education, Texas A & M University, Stevens Institute of Technology, and the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education. She has a bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction (Instructional Technology focus) from The University of Texas at Austin. Career highlights include:

  • Leading and implementing evaluation, grantwriting, and technical assistance for $40 million in federally funded initiatives in college readiness, teacher quality, STEM education, and service learning—including two highly competitive National Science Foundation grants and several GEAR UP grants.

  • Co-authoring a policy paper on Head Start teacher quality that was disseminated among members of the U.S. Congress and national Head Start associations, was written up in Education Week, and has been downloaded nearly 2,000 times.

  • Teach for America 4th grade bilingual teacher in Donna ISD (TX); runner up teacher of the year.

  • PTA President of fabulous Oak Hill Elementary, a high performing Title I school in Austin ISD. In 2015, the school received the PTA National School of Excellence Award, one of 126 in the nation, thanks to the success in nurturing leadership and enthusiastic involvement from our Spanish-speaking community

Her work is a tribute to her former fourth grade students at Moye Elementary; they challenged her, inspired her, and remind her that behind every statistic lies a child's rich story and unlimited potential.

She created a report that provided a detailed product feature comparison chart and a clear and exhaustive gap analysis of what is still needed for successful student achievement and engagement among all of the currently available CCR resources.

Her passions include working with students individually and working with programs that assist first generation college going students. She truly enjoys helping her clients work through complex processes.
